I am buying a bike in the next few weeks, and my roomate would like to be able to drive it every now and then, but it would be my princicple mode of transportation, so not often

He has car insurance, would it cost him much? he will be getting his M this month

He probably won’t want to do that when he finds out how expensive it is. I just insured a bike in Alberta and was shocked to find how much it cost. I asked why and he told me it was because bikes are so easy to steal and it happens so often. Personally I wouldn’t sh are my bike with

anyone unless I knew they were a very good rider.

    Add him as a secondary driver on the policy you will be taking out on your bike. Have him pay the difference. If you do not add him as a secondary driver then do NOT let him ride the bike because if he gets into an accident as you didn’t declare another rider in the household then your insurer will deny the claim and cancel the policy.
