When you are injured when an underinsured driver hits you, his insurance will pay for your medical costs. Most of the drivers carry only the minimum liability auto insurance. If your medical bills exceed the amount of his insurance, you will have to bear the remaining amount. In this situation, your own UIM policy will pay for the remaining amount after claiming his policy amount provided you have this coverage. For more information you can visit this link

OK, I think you’re misunderstanding what a “right” is.
You have coverage, under your policy, for any medical payments, lost wages, and pain & suffering, up to the limit of coverage you bought.
It also will coordinate with any pip/medical payment coverage you have.
You aren’t entitled, flat out, to the full limit. You have to have enough injury to justify it.
Besides that, I’m not sure what you’re asking.
Answer below!
You are entitled to actual damages you incurred up to the limit of coverage you purchased. Actual damages would be financial losses due doctor, hospital and rehabilitation bills. Loss of income resulting from the accidental injury would also be considered compensable damages.
